Atharvaveda — The Veda of Healing, Earth Wisdom & Daily Life

Revealed to the sages Atharvan and Aṅgiras, the Atharvaveda (Śaunaka recension) is the Veda closest to human life on earth—containing the foundations of Āyurveda (healing and longevity), household harmony, protection, cosmic time (Kāla Sūkta), and the magnificent 63-verse Bhūmi Sūkta (Hymn to Mother Earth, AV 12.1).

Internal Structure & Lineage: Organized across 20 Kāṇḍas (Books). Kāṇḍas 1–7 contain prayers for healing, longevity, and household concord; Kāṇḍas 8–12 feature grand philosophical hymns including the Skambha Sūkta, Prāṇa Sūkta, and the Bhūmi Sūkta (12.1); Kāṇḍas 13–20 cover marriage, royal duties, and cosmic hymns.
